Our design team has a long reputation of successfully meeting and exceeding the many complex and exacting requirements of our client’s retail and restaurant projects over the years.  Visual identity and recognition, inviting street presence, and the ability to effectively pull customers into and through a given establishment, as well as efficient and functional support spaces, storage, kitchen layout, office and delivery considerations are all thoughtfully considered and skillfully executed by Thorp Associates.

Trendz - Estes Park, Colorado
Forever Resorts of Scottsdale, AZ commissioned Thorp Associates P.C. to redesign a 4,800 s.f. retail space in downtown Estes Park, Colorado to house their latest direction in tourist and home décor retailing.  Five individual retail shops were remodeled to create a single open space that faces the busy corner of Elkhorn and Moraine Avenues.  The exterior was completely redefined with stone, stucco and colorful awnings, while careful studies of night lighting affect a warm glow from the interior and give emphasis to the new building façade.  Working closely with Forever Resorts' expert retailers, Thorp Associates also designed and coordinated the construction of all the store's display furniture and interior lighting.

Coffee Bar Cafe - Estes Park, Colorado
After the Lawn Lake Flood left nearly a foot of mud and debris on the floors of most Elkhorn Ave. shops in Estes Park, the owners of the Coffee Bar Café commissioned Thorp Associates to remodel their tired restaurant into a downtown corner icon.  The shell of the building was maintained while historical research went on to determine the character of the original structure, built in the late 1800’s as the Samuel Service General Store.  From historical photographs, the detailing of the original building was regenerated to create an authentic late Victorian storefront, faithful to the town’s heritage.  Victorian wood rim and fixtures were also reintroduced into the interior of the Café, for which the project was awarded a citation for excellence in design by the Wood Organization of Denver (W.O.O.D.).
