Estes Park Gateway Sign Monument - Estes Park, Colorado
This 6'x16' 6-ton slab of sandstone is the first of four signs being created to mark the major entrances to Estes Park. The effort is a joint project of the Town of Estes Park and The Rotary Club of Estes Park. Design services were provided by Thorp Associates pro bono as a donation to the Club's Community Projects Committee, of which Roger Thorp is a member. Computer modeling and rendering was used to pre-visualize the first installation on Highway 36. Once the native Colorado monolith was found, the first installation, paid for by the Club, was held November 2, 2001, and was attended by Club members, Town and EPURA staff, interested public and visitors passing by.
The project won a 2002 Honor Award for Excellence in Design from the Colorado North Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

Centennial Cooperative Park Pool - Milliken, Colorado
Enthusiastically greeted by 600 excited swimmers, the Centennial Cooperative Park Pool Facility in Milliken, Colorado opened to the public on Memorial Day Weekend 2003. This project includes two outdoor pools: the shallow 20'-0" diameter wading pool for toddlers and a larger recreation pool for older kids. The recreation pool features wheelchair accessibility, splash fountains, a "water drop", a log slide, two tunnel slides, and the extremely popular “alligator”. The structure houses a lobby, office, concessions, locker rooms, including a family locker room, storage and all of the mechanical equipment associated with the pools. In addition to the pools, the enclosed deck features a party area, which can be used by caterers and for private functions. The facility was designed to accommodate future additions that may include an indoor lap pool and diving well, as well as an indoor recreation center. Careful planning of this first outdoor pool phase will allow for easy expansion of the facility's locker rooms and mechanical spaces, as well as continued central control from the current office and access through the current lobby.

Knowledge Quest Academy - Milliken, Colorado
Responding to increased student population growth in the Johnstown-Milliken School District, Knowledge Quest Academy Charter School, currently sharing space in the Thorp Associates’ designed district administration building, gave Thorp Associates the go ahead to design its own building in the Centennial Park area in Milliken. Thorp Associates partnered with RB+B to design the 41,149 sq.ft. structure to house grades pre-school-8th located to share the site with future community park and recreation fields with the surrounding neighborhood. The design includes a gymnasium, which can serve for community use as well. Design elements include brick veneer, clerestory lighting, and shingled roof. Close cooperation between Knowledge Quest staff, architects, and contractor was necessary to ensure the completion of the facility by July 2006 so the academy will be ready for its Fall classes.
